Mitt Romney is Very Comfortable with the Blacks, doncha know?

So Politico has now made the brave and principled decision to suspend Joe Williams because ghost Andrew Breitbart told them to. All this because Williams made a few ill-considered tweets and, more interestingly, for his comment in this interview in which Williams observes that, while Mitt Romney seems fairly comfortable around white audiences, he seems to have a tougher time connecting with more diverse constituencies. As John Harris and Jim VandeHei wrote in a letter to their staff, "His comment about Governor Romney earlier today on MSNBC fell short of our standards for fairness and judgment in an especially unfortunate way."

This! This is precisely what's wrong with contemporary political discourse. How can anyone whose ever watched this (painful) video, go on to assert that Williams' point was invalid?

If your impulse upon encountering a group of blah people is to awkwardly mumble "who let the dogs out? whoot . . . woot" and the, chuckle like a goon, you just might have a reductive view of black culture.

But apparently Joe Williams is the problem for pointing this out.

Gah!
